LOCKING CHESS CURIOSITIES:
“Fool’s Mate”, in 2 moves, is an impossibility in LOCKING CHESS.
And 5 moves seemed to be the minimum number of moves to reach a checkmate or LOCKMATE in LOCKING CHESS. None of our chess players here at the CLUB had managed to find a “Scholar’s Mate” in four moves in the opening. The King always had a piece or pawn around him to overcome, escape and take refuge!
But the inventor of the LOCKING CHESS discovered a 3-move LOCKMATE sequence (obviously an “assisted” mate) in the opening, exploiting the weakness of the f7 square!
